OK, I think I'm in the right forum... I am looking at purchasing a 1998 E350 equipped with a 7.3 DIR Power Stroke engine. The van has 130,000 miles on it and is in VERY nice condition. The guy is firm at $8500.00 which I feel is a bit high but that is not the point of this post. He has great maintenance records but I can't find any info on his coolant and he knows nothing about the FX-16 additive. Does anyone know if there is a problem with cavitation with that specific year? It seems to be an in-between year for F series but this is E series. I checked the van's records and he has had oil changes done regularly as well as tranny / rear end service, starter, water-pump, etc. but I can't find any info on the coolant changes but it did appear to be nice and green in the expansion tank. Unfortunately I did not remove the cap and smell it. The tank was full and the color was a nice green. Do you think there would be any cavitation damage to it at 14 years old / 130K? Runs and drives great!
