Yes I was trying to get help here but guess the fact I don't have a F150 I would be silly to find some outside help from someone that might have the info I'm searching for.... Similar vehicle components and similiar problem so figured it would be a good start.... Ill move on to the Excursions as you suggested...

It's because your Excursion PATS system is very different, with a different ECU, electronics, completely different engine, etc..

The people down in the Excursion section a few page-scrolls down would definitely be more knowledgeable.

Excursion and Super Duty trucks are pretty much the same. 1/2 ton pickups are completely different. Having a diesel makes it even more important you ask i the "best" section.

Could use some insight on PATS...

I have a 1998 Expedition, 4.6l, just did a motor swap with a crate motor from a 1992 Crown Vic... Both Romeo motors, everything bolted up just fine. Added headers and all new everything to the motor...injectors, components, etc. All goes well until I turn her over for the first time and I get the evil PATS fast blinking issue. Check connections, all seem ok. Connect the Snap On Red Brick scanner, and it can not communicate with the ECM. check the relays, etc, does not appear to have any issues there.
Truck was running fine with the original 4.6l with 307,000 on it before a little piece of carbon roached that motor. No issues before then.
Any ideas, recommendations, etc?
ANy and all would be appreciated

PK

Is the theft light blinking fast? Did it do similar to what mine did?

1 Year Later

Just a followup on my original post here. It has been a year now since I disconnected the alarm taps under the dash.

No problems starting the truck since then. Problem solved.

It was not a PATS issue, but an alarm problem.

Thanks for all the input.
