Hi,
I have a F350 Power Stroke, 1995, 2 X 4, Standard. Since a few weeks, I can hear strange sound from underneath the truck. It happens randomly. The truck can be either at Idle and not moving, at any gear and moving, and the sound doesn't really change when I rev up the engine. It sounds like a metal part hanging somewhere and hitting a rotating part. I looked under the truck while it was at idle and I notice no loose items. Can it be something hidden at the connection of the engine and the transmission (5 speed manual)? Any idea where I should look? Engine performance are the same with or without the sound.
Thank you
I opened the flywheel cover and found a broken spring. What are these spring? There is a few of them around the flywheel which look in good condition. What is involve to replace this spring?
