I have a 2000 Ex V10 with 170,000 miles and the passenger side headlight stopped working. I changed out the bulb and when that didnt fix it, I changed out the harness.
The driver side headlight works fine as well as all of the other lights.
I'd appreciate any recomendations on what to look at next.
It is probably the headlight switch or a loose wire attached to it. I would try going to Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and locate a used one at a wrecking yard. If you would rather buy new then try an FTE sponsor, Rockauto.com. They have them from $72-$87.
I wanted to provide an update as I still have some unanswered questions. Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.
I popped the headlight switch out of the dash and checked the connections: no obvious loose coonections and I disconnected and reconnected the 2 connectors to reseat them.
I checked the fuses and the RH headlamp fuse was blown. I tried the same 10A fuse from the LH Headlamp fuse and the headlight did not work.
I am guessing something else created the blown fuse and needs to be fixed. Can I test the headlight switch to see if that is the problem before buying a new one? Would a bad headlight switch blow the fuse?
I'm even thinking that I spliced the wrong wires when changing out the harness for the bulb could have caused the blown fuse. THe wire colors were different so I matched the harness' up and went left to right and spliced wires accordingly.
Any suggestions for next steps would be appreciated greatly.
