these are from a 1979 f-250 camper specail with a 460 engine and automatic transmission. a few days ago, the ford seemed to have had a small engine fire. which i honestly believe might had been electrical. because part of the wiring harness on the engine is badly damaged.
theses 2 part numbers was on the section of harness.. i honestly do not know what they did.
heres the numbers: d8te-9b right below it reads 982-b2a
Numbers marked on parts after 1956 are ID engineering or casting numbers, not part numbers.
Engine gauge feed wiring harness, Ford basic ID engineering/part number 14289.
Marked: D8TB-14289-AA = Ford part number: D7TZ-14289-F = 1977/79 F150/350 460.
Marked: D8TB-14289-BB or CA = Ford part number: D8TZ-14289-B = 1978/79 F100/350 351M/400.
D8TE should be D8TB / 9B should be 14289-BB
982 is incorrect for an ID number prefix. Prefix composed of letter, number, two letters.
Besides the engine gauge feed harness under the hood, there is the headlamp wiring harness (basic number 14290), alternator harness (14305).
The main wiring harness (14401) pokes thru the firewall near the master cylinder.
Since your truck is 43 years old, it's possible a previous fire occurred, the fried engine gauge harness was replaced with the one from a 351M/400 or the engine has been swapped.
