Wow. I figured it wouldn't be too much longer. At least he can sit on the front porch with Barney Fife again. Wow. I'm going to be sad for a little while now.

This is how I think I'll remember him:

That was a shocker reading about him passing away..

He was a great entertainer and I still enjoy watching his shows and movies..

There will never be another like him..

Loved the Andy Griffith Show and still watch it to this day. I think Jim Nabors is in poor health as well. First time since cars had wheels that he did not sing at the Indy 500.

Immortalized in The Andy Griffith Show.....But damned near had as successful a run doing Matlock. Certainly as lengthy (10 years).

"No Time For Sergents" Great Movie. He had latrine duty & had all the toilet seats on a rope so that when the sarge inspected it, they all stood at attention when He pulled it. The early Andy Griffith shows when Opie was young were great." Winterthur" and "Angel in My Pocket" were 2 good movies also.

RIP, Andy. I think back to his show in Mayberry, with all the regulars: Floyd the barber, Goober, Opie, Barney, Aunt Bea, Howard, etc. and how lucky we were to "know" them. A show not filled with profanity, innuendos, or flesh; a show the whole family could watch and enjoy together. He will be missed, but never forgotten. God Bless!

Oh, s#*!. I have a feeling I'll be saying that a lot as I'm sure more of what I grew up with in the 50's and 60's dies away...

I remember Andy as the steadying influence against Barney - a man who knew people, and always knew the right way to deal with people.

The example he set was one of moderation and understanding.

~Something we can all profoundly use these days.

Like Ron Reagan - he was himself, and stood for the ideals he grew up with

I see that in all of his works

As far as I know - Hollywood and fame didn't change any of that

I expect God welcomed that man with open arms...
AMEN

~He was a wonderful example for all of us

Great guy and great role model. The black and white episodes of the show always reel me in.
