my 90 Bronco says on the door post that I should have 35 psi cold in the front and 41psi cold in the back. yet my front tires look too low and have about three inches of contact front to back. should I have both of them at 41? Also what is considered "cold".
"Cold" is after it's been sitting for a while - not immediately after driving on the highway for an hour.
Those are the factory recommended pressures for the OE tires to give a comfortable ride. You have to adjust the pressure for your own use & especially for replacement tires. I carry so much crap all the time that I run 45psi F&R for a smooth ride & even wear, and max out (50) when I tow or haul.
You should check the treadwear to get the right pressure. The Haynes manual has pictures to help.
