1995 Explorer Auto Control Ride
I have a 1995 Explorer Limited with Automatic Ride Control. About a year ago my check air ride system message came on my message center. I took it into a Ford Dealer for analysis, and they told me 3 of the 4 air shocks were not responding. I went ahead with the $1800.00 bill and had it repaired. A short while later, this same message appeared. The truck, I feel has a very rough ride. I took it back several times and they couldn't seem to get it fixed. The last time I had it in, the dealer had it for a week and when I picked it up, they told me that they did some work on the front sensor. I feel that the system is in the firm position giving this truck a hard ride.
I don't know where to take it or what to do, because of the limited production of this system no one seems to be able to diagnos if the system is really working0
I now think that the 4 new air shocks did not need replacement.
What does the forum think might be an answer.
Anyway, the way they fix them at the dealer (straight from the devil's mouth) is they get about 5 or 6 six guys on the rear of the truck and it will un stick them.
Supposedly it works most of the time, but not all the time. Of course, they'll charge $100 for the job though.
Good luck.
