Wheel Offset
I'm thinking of buying some 16x10s with -24mm offset. Will these work and how will they look? What offset do most of you have?
I'm running 16X10 Welds on 33's with a similar offset (BSM of ~2.5 inches), and they will hit on full-lock turns off road with a 4-inch spring lift. I need 6-inches to clear them comfortably, then I'll do something dumb like want to run 35's since I got all this 'new' clearance... some of us never learn, eh?
You might consider staying close to stock offset as possible for two reasons 1.) Not as much lift required - my buddy runs 35's on his stock alloys with a 4-inch lift and plenty of clearance 2.) I just did my first LF hub assy replacement after 40,000 miles on the wheels - the offset wheel will exacerbate the problem and cause premature failure of the hub assy - a $400 part that may or not be covered under warranty. Now I've joined the ranks of users that would pony up cash if the FTE moderators or deal gurus could get us a smoking deal on the Dyntrac upgrade - to go with the new 6-inch Edge spring packs of course...
Don't know if this answered your questions or not, MHO.
