The news said that it will be open next Dec. ( 2013 )
My smelt burnt also.
Have you ever done your rear diff ?

I try to avoid smelling ATF or gear oil. Gear oil is just nasty smelling and ATF smells like cat **** which isn't a super pleasant smell.

In my current truck project I dropped the tranny pan the fluid was dark brown, it dripped on my face so I didn't have a choice but smell the burnt atf

ya I changed the fluid with Mobil 1 synthetic also and added the 08+ finned aluminum cover. the fluid was NASTY, jet black

I wish they had a cheaper option to add a finned aluminum cover on my truck.
With the Dana 80 all that is out there or the Magtec type ones at about $250-280.

ouch!

i noticed some play in the drag link in my truck yesterday... got a moog one for $43. hopefully my steering will be good as new after all this. I still have ball joints and u joints sitting here that need to go in sometime, i am just not sure if i want to do them or pay someone

That is why I do not have one.
I don't know much about front ends and I don't think I would tackle ball joints.

its a big job, and with all the writeups and videos on here i think i could manage it. im just worried about breaking something and not being able to find it in time to finish the job. and i dont have another vehicle to drive in the mean time

I am in the same boat.
If my truck does not run I can't work.
I have some good storms moving in
I'm just looking for a new grill emblem now because the stock one is looking like crap.

Ball joints on IFS are cake, on a solid axle like your guys trucks, not sure!

I got some lightning here outside my window starting, how are the storms down there andy?

Worst part of it all is driving the seal in making sure you don't screw it up.
