i have an 05 f350. i've put a water pump and a degas bottle on in the last week. if i leave the degas cap loose no leak. When i tighten the degas my truck leaks water. but in different locations. First i thougt it was leaking from egr delete kit running off motor down past starter. then i go to take to shop get there it is leaking. on driver side at the bottom of hose from degas bottle. is it something else causing? these leaks? maybe thermostat or a clog somewhere?
Any sign of leakage from the cap it's self? It vents at about 16psi. Sometimes they will even whistle like a tea kettle. Sounds like cooling system may be over pressurizing. EGR cooler and head gaskets are common causes.
Should be able to. Pressure in the system raises the boiling point of the coolant, important when outside temps get high. Some styles of EGR delete leave the cooler in place and block the exhaust flow. Might want to chec the short blue (or orange) hose under where the cooler is/was. Common leaky spot.

Hmm.. Maybe someone else will have an idea. If the caps loose it doesn't have much pressure. It just souldn't be doing that. Might be time for all new hoses and clamps?
Check all of the hoses at the ends. The factory spring clamps loose tension over time and sill start to leak under pressure. I was chasing coolant leaks for weeks and broke down and replaced all of the clamps with new screw type. That fixed it for me.
No it doesn't leak with cap loose. I have no leaks with cap loose only when it's tight it may leak in different places. Seems like the water in degas bottle is boiling with cap tight Cheezit if I can get a pressure test what I'm I looking for? Where is bismic? HellO guys been a long time I have 350k on this puppy now
Water leak gone Replaced hose from degas bottle and put a new cap on. i had to take some water out of degas bottle. it seems to be fine but I think there is a hidden problem. now when im pulling my turbo gauge goes up to 28 psi. it didnt do this before
