After reading numerous posts here about others with similar issues with their 6.0 like mine such as poor cold starting, running very rough until warmed up and poor fuel mileage I bought the scan guage II. It helped to confirm the FICM was starting to read low down to 42 volts. I decided to give Ed at www.ficmrepair.com a shot. I never contacted them but pulled my unit out last Saturday and sent it off. I opted for the atlas 40 tune along with the repair.
My unit came back Thursday. What a fast turn around considering it went to Iowa and back to Cali. It is now installed. All I can say is what an improvement. Two cold starts so far and no issues. Power is back to new and then some. It will take a little while to check but I am sure the fuel milage will be better. My hats off to all who post here in FTE and to Ed at ficmrepair. Without all of you I would not have been able to fix the truck on my own.
