what is the largest tire I can fit under my truck? I can run a spacer betwen the two back tires, just concernedwith the front. I have 215/85r16 now but would like to go to 265/75r16. 1994 f350 drw 2x4. Thanks
265/75/16 would fit height-wise for sure. You have 215s on there now, but 235/85/16s were an option that year (it's what I have). Just on the basic math, the overall diameter for my tire is 31.72", while a 265/75/16 is 31.64". Your 215s are 30.38".
Of course, width is another issue, and I can't speak to that. I'd guess you'd want a wider rim for 265s, and might need a different offset to deal with any possible rubbing issues. You're also looking at a slightly off speedo, and the wider tire means more rolling resistance (worse MPG). On the plus side, the wider tire gains stability, ups your towing/hauling capacity, and probably fills the wheel well up real nice.
With the DRW, though, you may want to think twice about upping the section width in the back. I've heard of people having problems with 235s in the rear.
That's great. I'm mostly looking for the full wheel well look. I don't really care about the mpg. Thanks for the great post!! You said problems in the back....you mean rubbing?. I have some 2" spacers that are new. I don't mind putting them on. Thanks for the help

Correct. From a few threads I've read on the issue, it's a bit of a 'some have problems, some don't' kind of thing. But the general issue is the tires rubbing against one another, eventually causing enough friction/heat to cause one to explode. When you see a dually running down the road with a jacked up fender arch, that's usually what happened.
Having never owned or worked on a DRW, I can't really help you past there, but if you COULD find a way to safely make 235/85s fit on the rear with the 265/75s up front, the diameters are close enough that it should look pretty even.
