No Start. Here we go again.

My saga with my 04 continues.

After more than $10k in repairs, upgrades and everything else. I still can't catch a break.

Last week my wife drove the truck from California to Phoenix. Ran fine for 413 of the 414 mile trip. Truck stopped with symptoms of no fuel delivery less than a half mile from the house. After letting it sit for 20 minutes, it limped in to the house long enough to get parked. Replaced the fuel filters (including the Air Dog filters that probably didnt need it) still no start. FICM voltage is good. Tried the ICP disconnect trick. Nothing.

Not showing any codes on my SCT tunner. But that doesnt mean much. What next.

Two questions:
1) Anyone have a recommendation for a diesel shop in the Phoenix area? New to the area

2) Anyone want to buy a 04?

I got $500 and a trailer I'll come pick it up with my duramax

Sorry about your bad luck.

You need to check your ICP vs IPR %

Could be something as simple as a gummed up ipr from any dirt or crap getting into the oil with all the work that was just done.

Happened to me after doing my headstuds in my old 6.0

Update:
Ok, so I reattached the ICP and put everything back together and was about to call the tow truck and i jumped in and tried it. Struggled to life but is running strong now.

After you change out the filters, how long before you should get fuel all back through everything? I bet i had cranked on it 30 times while trouble shooting.

As for what repairs i have done. Most of the repairs/upgrades are in my signature. But I have had 6 of 8 injectors replaced at one time or another. 5 went when the FICM was weak. And one more was replaced while still in warranty from the shop.

I am developing the theory that it may be the injector wiring harness. With taking the ficm out and reinstalling it (twice) and disconnecting the ICP and reconnecting it. Is it possible?

A friend gave a wiring harness off an 07 6.0 when he did a cummins swap. Is it compatible?

Frustrated.

Should only take 3 key on-off cycles to get the air out of the fuel system. If you can check your fuel pressure, if you cant have it checked.

You need some gauges if you want to play

Gauges are a Must even if you take it to a shop for repair IMO!!!!

Looks like you have a Great shop close

Im shure you could get the Injector harness to work being it came off an 07

But if your ICP is in the Passenger valve cover its a direct fit

ICP under turbo then might have to unwrap the harness and relocate the ICP sensor

See if it starts fine XCold but has hard time HOT means HPO Problem

Didnt know BPD also had a shop. I know their products as I have helped a guy install their EGR and Oil cooler.

I will look into more gauges. It is running great right now. Did a 50 mile loop. Multiple stops and starts. 115 degree weather. No hot start issues.
