How important is the hood insulation?
What is this silver module on the right?
What does this plug do on top of the brake booster?
What is this sensor?

Hood insulation anchors are supposed to melt in case of an underhood fire, and the insulation is supposed to act as a fire blanket to smother the flames. May or may not work. My old truck didn't have one, and it didn't seem like it was much louder because of it, so I don't think there's a whole lot of sound-deadening qualities.
The electrical module mounted on the inner fender is the IDM (injector driver module). It provides high voltage to control the injectors.
The blanked-out plug on top of the brake booster may be a cruise harness? Idk, just a wild guess.
The sensor with the boost hose going to it mounted by the A/C box is the MAP sensor. Senses boost pressure for the PCM.

I have an XLT so I might have those plugged in and might be able to give you an answer.
