Torque App Accuracy?

Does anybody know how to get the correct reading for eot The 2 oil temps are (((A*256+B/100)-40 & ((((A*256)+B)/100)+40)*(9/5)+32. I do like the 3 ficm voltages & hpop gauges i couldn't see with my edge insight.

( ( ( A * 256 ) + B ) / 100 ) - 40

Be accurate!

Also, set unit to C.

This is the one I am currently using and matches my SGII.

This one wasn't working at one point. The +40 needed to be changed to -40.

If you scroll down through this page of a thread on the torque app forums, you will see some of the conversation about it. Also on a previous page in that thread also.

Will BITE, does the above equation work for your EOT?

Thanks for the help with the oil formula! Do you have the correct tranny temp formula?

There is like 3 different Ford PIDs in the list when you choose.

Go to edit the Trans temp like you did for EOT. Make sure to change from "auto" to "TCM".

Then when you add a gauge, pick "Trans FL" temp, which should be the first trans gauge to select. Not the "method 1 & 2"

PID = 221674

Short name= TransFl

Min= 0.0
Max= 300.0
Scale= x1
Unit= F

equation= ( ( A * 256 ) + B ) / 8

OBD header to use= tcm

That will

Many thank you's, to you guys! It looks like it worked, i will know for sure when compared to my edge insight. The eot, transmission & coolant are within 1 degree of the insight!

Hello all, I just bought the torque app last week. I just bought the Plx kiwi Bluetooth adapter and it came in the mail on Tuesday. They say it is very simple to hook up to my truck and pair my adapter to my drod razor phone. Well I have tried everything under the sun to get it working and thing is happening. I'm thinking bout sending the adapter back and try something else.. Any of you guys that run this have any tricks??? Im at my wit ends

Any help will be awesome

Plug in adaptor.

On phone:
Open settings.
Tap wireless and networks, or Bluetooth.
Tap search for devices if adaptor isn't already recognized.
Select OBDII device once recognized.
Long press device name, and select pair.
Open Torque and watch for connection.
If no connection, unplug adaptor for 30 seconds, and plug back in.

Yours might have a slightly different process, but this gets you really close to where you can hopefully figure it out.

Amdriven:

Thanks for posting so much info...Have you checked the TFT readings from the torque app against the scangauge? I was getting TFT readings of 186 to 190 with the Torque when the OBD header was blank...Changed it to TCM and now I am getting about 150 when it is good and warmed up (city/no tow)...Question is, which one is correct? Concern is, are we just changing parameters to get the numbers we want...

Also, does any one know what changing the OBD header from Auto/HEX/TCM is actually doing?

I don't know if I missed it, I have read so much, what is the current formula for ECT (for Torque app)?
