The past 7 days with my Expedition has been one poop storm after another. Air bags went out, so I converted to a spring rear end. Two days later the heater core started leaking. So far everytime I've had an issue I've been able to come on here and find a solution. Today's issue took the cake. Driving to and from my destination the truck ran good. When I got back in town the the truck, rough idled, sputtered, tried to die, and backfired. As long as the truck got above 1500rpm it was fine. But I had to play with the throttle to keep the revs up.
I'm seriously at a loss. It's got a new MAF, PCV hose, MAF to throttle body intake tube. I'm waiting on a code reader to show up, so I can see if anything pops up other than bank 1&2 lean. I'm about to seriously pull my hair out over this truck
This elbow seems to come apart in the middle of the bend. To properly inspect it you will need to remove it. Replacements are under $5.00 at Autozone stores in the "Here's Help" parts line.
I had a similar issue as well, and pulled the Idle Air Control Valve off and cleaned it. My idle is a bit rough at start and I was losing considerable amount of speed up hill, so I recently checked my entire EGR system. There's a bit more to it than just checking the EGR Valve, solenoid, egr tube etc. The EGR channel in the throttle body may be clogged as mine was.
