Question Bronco Overheating

I have a 1986 Bronco Fullsize 302 efi aod.

Replaced => fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel relay, map sensor, iac, egr, throttle sensor, plugs, wires, caps/rotor, 180 thermostrate, air filter.....

Cleaned => throttle body, fuel injection additive by marvel oil

Problem => overheating and jerking when driving. No power going uphill.

What's going on?

Did you check the timing? Sounds like the timing is very late
(retarded)......

Could be too far advanced, too. Also, check valve timing - the chain may be seriously stretched.

Good point on the timing chain!!! As far as the timing, I would bet
on retarded, instead of advanced if it isn't pinging......

Alright...I guess I will check the timing chain to see if it is stretched. Last time I checked (two months ago) the timing is at 10. Thanks for advise...

10°BTDC is just the ignition timing - we're talking about VALVE timing. The quick way to tell is to note your ignition timing (with a light), then rev the engine a few times and see if it jumps around AFTER the engine gets back to idle. (It'll change a LOT while you're revving.) A jumpy timing mark indicates slack in the chain. A more precise way is to turn the crank slowly back & forth by hand and watch the dist. rotor - the farther you can turn the crank with NO movement from the dist, the worse condition the chain is in.

Updated of my !986 Bronco 302 EFI AOD

Checked timing chain (10 degree), valve timing. Both are in good shape.

Put new low pressure fuel pump and strainer. Old part has rust coated on it. The strainer is packed with rust particles.

Power restored!!!

Still a little overheating when idle (needle is at 1/4 way to "H" )but much better than a couple of week ago. Engine cooled down back a little when driving.

Do you guys have any more tricks for taking control of overheating problem at idle for more than two minutes (traffic or stop at redlight).
