I would make sure you have the overheating problem fixed before you go with the electric fan conversion. That way if it starts overheating again, you will know right away it's the new fan causing the problem.
Remember, if you mout the fan right to the radiator, the only thing with air going through it is that 16" circle, where as a mechanical fan pulls through the whole radiator. I have sucessfully used electric fans by fabricating a shroud that the fan mounted in, approx 3" from the radiator so it would pull from the entire surface of the radiator. The aluminum radiator will help, of course, but it is not the cure-all. Like the Wiz said, just replace the radiator first and see if your problem goes away. If it does then you can decide if you want to go through all the hassles of an electric fan.
I agree with mrwizard. I would fix the overheating problem before installing an electric fan.
What you have picked out is fine, you need a puller, not a pusher. Also, the only main advantage to an electric fan is the gain in horsepower, like 2 or 3 by not having a fan spinning.
I have to ask why replace the radiator. Have you made serious engine mods or something. I have gotten several radiators recored, rodded, whatever you want to call it for about $100, and they are as good as new.
