105 here today!

And today just happened to be the day that I have time to do a little work on my truck. Taking the engine and trans back out so that I can have the block and heads rebuilt. One would think that when the temp is over 100 that the mosquitoes wouldn't be out in force. I had my 4' D fan about two feet away from me on high. Working around my right index finger that I just had surgery on last Tuesday - no pain now as long as I don't hit it on something or use it.
I got the front clip off, which is just the inner fenders and the radiator + support. Got everything disconnected and ready to pull Thursday morning when I think I will have a little help. A good day, and a hot one. No let up tomorrow but down into the high 90's later in the week.
Hope all you guys in Florida are OK and staying out of the floods!

Temp said 109 here north of Austin!

Didn't work in the shop tonight. Waiting for a seal for the master cylinder, soi can finish the brakes on the red truck.

Here in the west its drying up and burning down. Its been hovering right about 100 here for several days. No sign of any type of moisture.

You have to cover your tools with a rag or they'll be too hot to handle, you can't toss your arm out the window of the truck without burning the beejesus out of the bottom of your arm.

Welcome to summer!

What a bunch of braggers. And here I sit wishing summer would show up. I'm about tired of these record low temperatures. I've yet to turn the A/C on, which is good for my electric bills, I guess. I suppose that makes up for the $4.25/gallon for gas I'm still paying.

Paid $3.19 yesterday....

The grass is always greener... Two winters ago when it hit -17 here, I swore I'd never complain about being hot again... that didn't last

A LITTLE heat would be nice......we had a hail/sleet/wind storm this morning, did a lot of damage. Don't think it got above 50 today....has rained almost every day for the last month. Still WAY better than the hot stuff though.
Wayne, gas is down to $3.50 here.......

Perfect evening for working on the truck. About 70 and finally some sunshine. Helps burn off some of the mold and mildew. Gas here is down to $3.59. hahoo, going on a motorcycle trip in a month and looking forward to buying some really cheap gas in Wyoming and South Dakota.

Tipped over 100 today in Dallas. Took the truck out for a spin, sweated like crazy but had fun none the less. Back to the Mustang tomorrow, it has A/C!

Where I am I don't think our temps the last couple of days would add up to 105*.

Gas is cheaper here, but I would love to not have to AC 24/7. I guess we all wish for something else besides what we have sometimes. I don't mind the highs nearly as much as I hate getting up in the morning to heat. 6:AM here and it is 84 degrees. If it would at least cool down to the 60's at night maybe I wouldn't be such a whiner.

iI drove about 70 miles round trip Sunday to a v8 club meeting. guage got a little hotter than i'd seen it previously, but this little gem didn't show any signs of vapor lock. Started first time every time. 53 f100 flathead 6v mech fuel pump. It was mighty warm in the cab but years ago I convinced myself the only way around this Texas heat is to get over it. There were only 3 other flatheads at the club. 41 delux woodie, 40 fordor and a 53 vicki. Most of the die hard v8'ers opted to drive something with AC

Come on up to Littleton to cool off. High here yesterday was 67. It might break 70 today!

We're gonna hit 100 here later this week, according to the forecast, for the first time ever in the month of June. We're already in a "mild drought" here. All of small streams on my farm are dry.

BTW, I paid $3.05/gallon for gas this past weekend.
