I have a 08 F250 gas 5.4 with 43,000 miles on it.
Last year in November the truck quit running and had to be towed in.(35,000 miles)
Service said that the computer had been programed wrong from the factory and that the engine was using to much fuel / burning to hot.
Manifolds and cat conveter had to be replaced.
Now at 43,000 miles the engine is shot, sludge build up and damage at head / pistons scarring.
Service says they only have records of oil changes at 5k 36k and 43k, i changed the oil my self around every 5-6k but dont have records.
Ford rep says not covered without maintenance records, and dealership did not tell rep about previous engine problem.
Is the first problem related to the newest problem?

 

I would say the latest problem is related to the first problem. Tell them again that you have been doing your own maintenance, and damage was done from the wrong programing.
