Typical underhood temp?

What is the typical underhood temp in one of these trucks with a v8 that has unwrapped headers on it? My gas line from the pump to the carb is getting to hot and is taking away the power because of the hotter temp gas. I have reflective tape I want to try but need to know if it will withstand the heat under the hood first...

I feel your pain.
Yesterday mine started to vapor lock for the first time since I owned it.
I ordered some heat sleeve last night to combat the heat.
As Far as the heat, I know I checked my temps yesterday and my fuel pump alone was 200 degrees when I parked when I got home.
The fuel line that goes to the
Carb was running around 170 degrees.
Oh mines a stock 400 with stock manifolds.

Yea I have some reflective tape that's rated at 200 degrees and I want to wrap it around the line to the carb. Just seeing if it would hold up, because when the gas isn't hot, the thing has some pretty good power.
