Intro/build thread
Truck is a 1990 F150 Lariat, 302, 5 speed 4x4 with supposedly 90000 miles. I bought it for $1800 with I figure is a pretty decent deal. The interior is in really nice shape, it just needs a solid cleaning (previous owner had a dog). No major rust on the truck, just the various odd spot from various scrapes and scratches over the years. The 4wd works, and has the auto hubs in the front.
My goal for this truck is to get it back in to good running shape and use it as a camping rig/hiking rig/parts hauler for my audi. So on to what it currently needs -
Truck is misfiring pretty bad, checked gap on one of the spark plugs and it seems to be okay so I bought a set of spark plug wires that I have yet to put on.
The idle is really high (1500rpm). Thankfully the po left a code reader in the truck and it said the ect sensor was bad so I swapped that out and fixed the idle.
A/C compressor has been removed - not sure I'll fix this.
Driver's lock switch is missing, door panel is loose, and the window doesn't go down all the way - I'm sure they're all related so I'll fix those things. Because they are a 5 wire system, with the master switch gone the locks don't work so hopefully it's just the switch.
The roof paint is peeling pretty bad, I'll sand this down and shoot it a similar color to blend in a bit better.
On to some pics -

And I'm sure this isn't most people's cup of tea, but here's my audi -

Looking forward to learning about these vehicles. I've had 10-11 cars since I started driving 12 years ago, but this is my first truck.
My new serpentine belt started to lose a rib on the way home though. Sucks.
Bought some exhaust manifold gaskets today to try and cure my exhaust leak, might try fixing that in the morning before work. We'll see how my time goes.
