Update on our 1992 E150

Thanks to the great folks on this Forum our van is running extremely well.

It has been many days since I last did any further work on the van (due to either rain or extreme heat). Really stinks not having a paved drive way or shop and no shade trees.

Tomorrow however the high is predicted to be 89 which is a far cry from the 98 we have been having so

Tomorrow I work...

Planned work includes

replace the extremely undersized 550 cca battery with a proper battery

Repair the tail pipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler

install some minor bezels and a rear view mirror

replace rear bumper with a step bumper so I can tow my trailer

install wire harness for trailer lights

and try to install and make work the 2002 parking brake cables (I know it says they wont work in the book but they where free and it is all the cables)

Oil and Filter change

****If time permits trouble shoot the speed control system some more

I think that list is probably gonna take up a good chunk of the day.

on Friday the 29th maybe Monday the 2nd the van will go in for MO. State safety inspection..

***Note*** We have logged just over 1200 miles on it since we got it running and the only significant problem was the exhaust pipe snapping in two.

 

That's cool, I think of a Econoline as a machine that can do or be almost anything.........
