I have been readying the Ex for our trip to S.D. the last couple of months. I think we are ready. I have changed the transmission fluid, rear axle fluid, engine oil, dog bone and sway bar bushings, front rotors, front brake pads, caliper brackets and slide pins. Got a SCT tuner from Mike at 5Star for Christmas, been running the 87 performance tune when not towing. Running the 87 towing tune when hooked to the TT. I haven't been more pleased with the Ex since we first bought her. She is a beast but civil and a joy to drive now. Leaving next Sat. bright and early. Gonna be a long week at work. Mount Rushmore here we come!
Travel safe buddy!...nice work on the Ex too before the trip!
We'll be a few weeks behind you in the Black Hills...we're making our way there via North Dakota (Teddy Roosevelt NP), Montana (Glacier NP), Wyoming (Yellowstone NP and Devils Tower) and THEN SD (Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Badlands and Wall Drug)...
When we're in SD...I'm trying to set up a mini G2G with Rob (SD chapter leader) and Trent (RushmoreX)...so we'll see if I'm successful!
Question for you...I've got the 87 performance tune from Mike...never even loaded it...how do you like it and how does it do mpg wise?...do you notice any extra zing?...I've got 4.30's in my Ex...I prolly should try that tune out one of these days!...LOL
Thanks for all the nice comments guys. And Joe concerning the 87 performance tune, the transmission seems to shift quicker than stock and a little firmer. Fuel mileage is .5 to 1.5 more depending on conditions and my right foot. Thanks again guys.
