If people have more than one truck, they should ALL be listed in their signature. When asking questions, should make sure to list the specific truck they are a workin' on.
Some people, when asking questions, fail to list one single shred of evidence of what the he!! they are working on.
Are clueless, or assume the respondees will all be mind readers.
Once at the parts counter, a clueless cluck asked for a fan belt...period. No year, no engine size, no nothing. I stood there and stared at him, didn't say a word.
Finally he said: "What does the parts book say?" I bent over the counter, put my ear on the book...then said: "It says nothing, cuz you haven't told me what you're working on!"
Another time, a cluck asked for a roof side emblem for an LTD. When I asked what year it was, cluck said they were all the same. So I sold him an emblem for a 1971.
Next day, he came back, said "you sold me the wrong emblem!" "No, I said, I sold you exactly what you asked for, cuz when I asked you what year it was, you said they were all the same!"

I was the back (shop) partsguy, but when it was slow, walked over to the front counter, waited on customers. It was amazing, some peeps had no clue what they had, one cluck had a Pontiac.
I said: "This is Crenshaw Motors FORD" .. Majestic Pontiac is located 20 blocks north. He responded: "Don't you have the parts?"
(sigh) You can lead a jackass to water, but you cannot make it drink.

Some people, when asking questions, don't list one single shred of evidence of what the hell they are working on.

I'd like to claim ignorance for some of us on here and not just cluelessness or stupidity. A year ago I couldn't have told you the difference in between and header and a head. Probably still can't and there are a thousand other parts that fall into that bucket. I didn't grow up working on cars so had no exposure to it. Now I envy you knowledgeable folks on here a lot and want to be like you when I grow up.
Some of us are just starting and appreciate all the help we get on here. Especially patient help!
And ya I don't understand why people assume that you know exactly what part they want for their exact vehicle. I try my best to be as specific as possible if asking questions. Also the search function here is grossly under used! I am of the belief that if you want to ask a question you should be forced to search for the answer for an hour before you can post! Then again if they did that these forums would be about 12 pages...
I do feel your pain, we are just lucky that despite your crabbiness you are still willing to share your knowledge with us.
