Got my new SCT tuner from Mike. Loaded the 87 perf tune.....made a big difference over stock. Have not hooked up my almost 10K 5th wheel yet to try the 87 tow or the 89 tow yet. Mike is a great guy to work with!!!!

Fuel economy is about the same if not worse only because it wakes the truck up and you might feel the need to feel the torque of the truck more often. It eliminates the throttle lag. The tune on my truck is only 87 perf/tow I did try the 87 economy didn't care for it and do have the 89 perf/ tow and still have not tried it after 2 years just because the 87 perf/ tow brings a smile to the face when you step on it.
Mike has great customer service to!

Another thing I noticed....wne to Southern Oregon this last Saturday and usually coming back home...in overdrive down the grades with cruise on...you would always tend to creep up in speed..set @ 65mph and soon you wer close to 70+. With the 87 perf. tune....I had the truck set @65 and the highest it got was about 66-67. You could feel it holding back going downhill. Which should help towing my 5ver down some steep grades. And....noticed the power difference. and have not checked but looked like I used less fuel than normal.

So what will the 5 star do for economy? Or is there no real way to do anything for economy....im not complaining at the moment, im getting 15 highway if i am not mistaken on my math:

119 miles(missoula, MT to helena MT by google maps) from my house to fort harrison, and i used 8.129 gallons(topped off when i got to helena) and my numbers are as follows:

119/8.129=14.64

Is this right? I know the following are new on my truck:

Front end(entire thing)
new injectors
spark plugs
COPs
boos(idk if these are the same as COPs)

I used the plus gasoline.
