Hey guys. I have a 90 FSB that refuses to start. It is a 5.0 with a C6. No modifications have been done on the engine except dual exhaust.
My fuel pump went out, so I pulled it to change. I noticed there was an excessive amount of rust flakes on the sock and floating around in the tank. I drained the tank and decided it was time for a new one. Got a new one and a fuel pump. I disconnected the fuel lines and blew them out until clear cleaner came out. Hooked the lines back up and replaced the filter.and put it all back together.
Went to start it the next day and no start. Checked fuel rail pressure and it was steady at 45, and held it for 15 minutes. Now I know the fuel pump and pressure regulator are good. Checked for spark at the coil, distributor and plug, have it. I know it is getting air and it ran before I had the pump go. I checked the injectors (1) and had 12 volts on red, solid blinking light on the other while cranking. I mean the wire had power and it would drop out as the engine turned.
