We were gone for the weekend and came home to 11 new mounds of the dreaded cicada killers....that doesn't count what might be under the deck.
We had them here for years ,, They never bothered us(they are very focused on the Cicadas ) ,other than make a mess of the yard . The pest control place near here said , get a tennis racket .. (really)
Ha, ha...I can spray for those suckers. These bad boys are hard to get rid of. Funny, I have 40 acres in East Texas without these butt-horns but, here, I have a very small back yard (Half of which is shed and deck) and this evening I counted over 30 mounds. That's the ones I can see. They just keep multiplying.

Maybe I should let you borrow my daughters little rat dog (that's living with us now). I noticed it snapping at the bees when I first posted. I'm down to only seeing 2 bees flying around the area now. I'm starting to wonder if that little rat, I mean dog, actually killed them or chased them off.
Geez! The State which gave us 'Remember the Alamo'......the Texas Rangers (the real ones....not the baseball team).......Oil barons and the Ewing family.....and longhorn cattle and 10-gallon hats now gives us guys getting their a$$e$ kicked by harmless little furry bees! Say it ain't so!!!
If a cicada killer is what I think it is, we call them sand hornets. I've been told they can put a cow on it's @$$...I personally wouldn't wanna find out...
