Leak between transmission and transfer case

Hi guys, shes takin a leak,,lol... I've got about 6k mi until I can get home to take the transfer case out and check it out. Its a manual trans with esof (in case my sig doesnt show up,,, mobile). Just wanting to see where the most common spot is where others have leaked. It looks like its at where the trans and transfer case meet. Can the output seal on the transmission be replaced without removing the transmission? Can't tell if its fluid from the transmission or transfer case,,, both are red...

I've only had one experience with a manual Trans leaking in that area and it ended up being the case itself. Yes that output seal can leak, though there aren't too many out there that have leaked. Then again, there aren't too many out there will as many miles as yours. Lol
The good news is, it's fairly easy to remove the Trans. Good luck and get home safe.

I haven't ever pulled the x case... Any pointers or special tools needed... might as well do both seals huh? Are either of the seals unusually expensive? Thx again

Also, can the output seal on the transmission be replaced without removing the transmission?

I would replace both unless you can add dye to the trans to varify what one is leaking.
to remove the x-case remove the trans cross member, the trans mount and unbolt the x-case. not hard but not a light unit either weld up a jig that can be used with a jack or use to people to r/i it unless you a big guy.
yes out put shaft seal on trans can be done w/o removing the unit.
