Is it the fitting in the head or where the line mates to the fitting?

They have these in between the line and fitting

I don't think you have to take the down pipe off

I put a piece of split fuel hose around that point to prevent wear.

Anyone with an Early 99 should also check the driverside fuel line. Mine was making contact with the IPR nut. You can see the groove in the hose I added where it makes contact. 99.5 and up have a different bend in the fuel line and this is not a problem.

If there is a p-clamp on the passenger side fuel line take prevetative measures. Driver side on 99.5 and later unlikely. Aways best to take a look.
