2001 F250 Superduty Air Compressor

I have a 2001 F250 Superduty 4WD - 5.4 Gas Auto Trans.
The Air Conditioner works fine but even when i am in the vent mode, i hear the air compressor cycling on and off plus i get a constant dripping of water (Condensation) as if the air was on.
I think this compressor runs all the time and never shuts off.
I understand the compressor should be on when in the defrost and a/c modes but i dn't think it should be on all the time.

If that assumption is correct, any ideas what i should be looking for to correct this?

Thanks.

I thought the same thing, but the a/c is off only when on full vent or full feet area. But when it is on the mixed settings the a/c will still cycle. I think it is dumb myself, one would think a/c would only be on when in the a/c position but it is not. I ended up looking this up in my owners manual.
