Eot Ect readings

I just got my scan gauge yesterday and after drivng 1 hour with cruise set on 70 here's what I got.
EOT 186
ECT 139
THERMASTAT?????????????

Yes,my first step would be to install a new thermostat and go from there. You should see 190+ ECT if things are as they should be.

Also make sure that both readings are within a degree or two of each other after a cold soak overnight.

There was a 20* difference this morning before starting

Reprogram the scangauge before changing any parts. Ect/eot in the morning should be within 1 or 2 degrees. The one that matches ambient in the morning is the correct one.

Good catch CJ!! I always take for granted that people verify the cold soak temps. Sorry Swampfire!!

I went back in and reprogrammed it. Now there is a 1* difference. I will see on the drive home how it does. I had the ect numbers wrong.

great spread. keep ontop of the cooling system to make sure they stay that way

What is the average ect/eot max temp spread one should see UNDER EXTREME SERVICE and UNLOADED with this system? Just put in my scan gauge and programmed many xgauges.....trying to get an idea

No such thing. Deltas are only relevant when the system is totally heat soaked, 15 to 20 highway miles, on level ground cruising at highway speeds. 60 to 65 mph will suffice. Max spread should be 15*.
