Carb Source

Looking for an original style carb for '55 with a 223. Ordered one from Rock Auto and a Holley carb arrived today.

Where can I buy an original style carb?

Yes, it's a Holley 1904 remanufactured by Autoline it looks like this:

Is this actually the correct carb??

Yes, that is the correct type carb for a 223....let us know how well it works when you get it running. I need one, but am leery of rebuilts.

Yes, that's correct. The original has the glass sight bowl.

I love my 1904s but they do have issues. The glass bowl is nice but prone to leaking/breaking. If you want the original look on ebay otherwise the new one might be the best choice.

Note: The air cleaner on top of the carb is not original.

Okay great, thanks guys. We do have the original air cleaner as well.

The price via Rock Auto wasn't too bad. It was $119.99 with a $40 core.
