Bump. I was about to post the exact same question. Is it best to get the bungs and reinstall sensors or just delete them along with? Thanks fellas!

Type of delete pipe depends on the tuner u buy....SCT requires bungs...H&S requires no bungs....and im not sure what the Spartan tuners call for

The tuner will be the high cost item, so if you get that picked out then you will know to have bungs or no bungs. if for some reason you want to get the pipe first, get one with bungs. Then if you don't need the sensors you can put the sensors in and not connect them or plug the holes with bolts and let the sensors hang.

Not trying to hijack the OP's thread, but I guess I just need to decide on the tuner, as stated and go from there. I can't afford a Spartan, so are the SCT's good units? I kinda like the idea of keeping the sensors, although I don't know why. I'm no hotrodder, just want dependability and a little fun every now and then (kinda like my wife says). Thanks fellas.

I'm way out of the main stream on tuners. I bought a used Edge racing evolution on craigs list. I run it only on step 1 which is like +35 HP. I'd probably run it on stock but that's not an option. I got the results I wanted. Truck has more response and just feels better, my oil is clean and my first tuned oil report was outstanding and way better than any report I had gotten with the DPF on. I've got 9000 miles on it tuned and very happy.

Keeping the sensors is a pain. Plus, it just means you will be replacing them as they seem to go out often. I have had to replace 3 of them when the DPF was on. If youre doing the job yourself, go with no bungs and just leave them on the stock exhaust. IMHO youre asking for trouble if you transfer them over. I like the H & S tuner and I would go with the larger of their two units if I had it to do over. I also have had a PHP (Edge) tuner and it was okay but the tranny was out of sync with the tune which always worried me when it would search for gears.

Hi Rich, how big a tune were you running, mine seems to shift fine. I'm thinking hard on going back to stock though and buying an extended warranty. Every time I read one of these $12,000 repair stories I think more about it. Driving these 6.4s without any warranty is kind of a craps shoot.

My tune on the PHP was the max with DPF on. It would occur if you let off the throttle quickly and then back on. It would almost feel like you were dropping it into gear. I think my other issue is that I tow in the mountains a lot and then go to driving without anything. The tranny just cant seem to learn that fast with the unit. It was a good tuner except for the tranny stuff.

I have read the edge evolution information top to bottom can not find out if you can do the DPF delete. From reading these post sounds like you can??
Can you change shift points? Do you need exhaust bungs for the Edge Evolution.
Thanks

Not sure about edge. PHP is a second company that uses their platform and gives you custom tunes.

There are two Edge revolutions, to delete you need the edge RACING evolution. I think it is grey and the non-racing is black but I'm not positive. They have quit selling that model (racing) because (they say) they found out people were using them on road. I'm thinking they had some pressure from somewhere, but that's just a guess. I guess they have taken the info on that unit off the web site. There are still some new racing models around at the tune shops. Google it and you should find some. You will need the delete pipe with bungs for the sensors. Hope this helps.

Now I know what you had. That's (PHP) Power Hungry Performance. That is a Georgia company. I think they do the custom tunes on the Gaffron which is different from the Edge I have.
