87 F-150 Headlights
Need to replace my headlights, clorox is only half-working for a week or so now. I would like to upgrade to LEDs, but I have yet to find any direct replacements. Does anyone know of any, or is my best bet going to be trying to fab up one of those 5x7" units? Or even just a driving light pair? What you guys think?

Have you tried using basic rubbing compound? I used some 800 grit on a power buffer and it really helped on my '89. Never tried the actual headlight restore kits, I think it's just same basic compound.
Don't get too agressive, don't want to grind through!! Just light pressure and let the compound do the work. As the compound wears down, it polishes it pretty good. Did mine last summer, it's due again.

That 3M headlight kit that includes super-duper plastic cleaner and a buffing pad you attach to a drill works fantastically. There is also a cleaner specifically designed for plastic headlights that works pretty well. Check your local NAPA for 3M stuff.

The cleaner stuff is all fine and dandy, but I'm really wanting to upgrade to LED bulbs. I know Truck-Lite is making a 5x7 unit, but the 87 lights are more like 7x12. I could fab a mount without much trouble, but I fear it would look disproportionate with the turn signals. My next idea was a 12" light bar diagonally mounted, which may would look pretty sweet, but I have yet to decide what direction I want to go.
