I use the pink acid coil cleaner that I get by the gallon for about $10 from the HVAC supply house. I have porous aluminum mags, Western Cyclones. It cleans ALL the crap off of them. If yours are not porous aluminum, I can't really say. Although, if you use it and it takes everything off of them including the clear coating, you can always spray a high quality clear back on them once they are completely clean. I have some pictures here; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...build-log.html
It's looking better. I say take the wheel off and try the acid on the back side of the wheel to see if it will work or not. I got my wheels for a steal from an older guy that used to have a wheel and tire shop. He had long since retired an used to just hang out with his brother and anyone else that would come by the shop. I stopped in one day and asked about a set of used mags the size I wanted for my truck. He said he might have some buried in the back. It took him 2 weeks to un-bury them for me, cost $125. Nasty, filthy, greasy, dirty to say the least. I used the acid coil cleaner on them probably 5 times before they looked like new. I used it to maintain the look now, only every so often. Pics are in my build thread.
There are a few online sources for reproduction center caps without the Ford logo. From the dealer the rears are around $94 a piece. They are highly sought after and often stolen.
