There are special tools to remove door panels without damage that aren't that expensive. Probably a good thing to have for the future if you need to do something inside your door and need to remove the panels.
Even if you do use the special clip pry tools you can still break the panels, especially if theyre older. The older panels break pretty easily.
I'm actually looking for a green dash pad if you can still get it. If its not cracked and is dark green let me know if you can get it.
Obsolete, no longer available from Ford. Dunno if any are available NOS, because: There are TWO different shades of green listed for 1976. Post the BODY code stamped on the Warranty Plate.
Just Dashes (justdashes.com - located in Van Nuys CA) will take your original and restore it, but it won't be cheap.
Just Dashes also repro's padded dashes. This is where Carpenter and some of the other repro parts sellers are buying them from.
Old thread brought back to life! A lot has happened since I posted this. I sold my SC but have thought better of it and since bought a 78 F150 I'm working on. Those doors went to a very good place. I have found a gentleman who loves dents and pretty much collects parts and trucks. He doesn't advertise and isn't especially fond of haggling or tire kicking. I took him the doors and they are put up out of the weather. I went recently to get a few things and saw them. If there is anyone is the area of Jonesboro, Arkansas I can take you to the Disney World of Dents. Also, he's always been extremely reasonable with me on parts. I don't know that he would want the hassle of shipping things though.
So my Dad calls me when he runs across a 73-79 sitting some where and will send pictures and ask if there is anything I want off of it. If there is he will ask the owner about it and we go from there. I got one of those calls and turns out the old feller had a 76 F150 with front and rear 8 lug axles. I kinda scratched my head as the old man insisted it was bought new that way.
Anyway, the doors on the truck were just about perfect and he said I could have them for "what I thought they were worth". I grabbed a old set of doors I had and swapped them out (he wanted to keep doors on it to protect the dash and other good parts inside). The door panels are green and besides being dirty, are dang near perfect. I grabbed the sun visors as well and they look pretty good too.
Are these things hard to find? I dont need green panels but at the same time dont want to mess them up when I go to take them off and put my blue ones on the doors.
Anyone need a couple green panels?
i need green door panels!!! message me 704-219-9369
