Another Tranny Question
I have an '86 Bronco with a 351w and C-6 tranny. I know that they had the AOD trans in ford trucks a little earlier than this, so I was wondering if Ford made the bronco to accept either the c-6 or aod as a drop in with no mods, or maybe very minor? i am going to get an aftermarket AOD that is more robust than stock, and I like the idea of overdrive. I read up on the 78-79 bronco conversion, but is that different than my bronco?

you should be able to swap it over with little to know mod. but i will tell ya that the C-6 is way stronger and cheaper to build or rebuild then the AOD. but if your getting a built AOD then you should be fine.
