The bad thing is - forgetting you are that close when u get ready to leave and crank the wheel to the left to back up and it SSCCRRAAPPSS along while backing up !
I did that with my Ex
That's part of the reason our company car policy is to back into parking spots...
My truck is over two years old and hasn't recieved it's first scratch yet. I can't say as much for my previous F250 6.4 though. 3 weeks after recieving it we went to a barbecue joint for dinner. When I was backing out of a crowded parking lot I hit a concrete covered light pole making an ugly crease in the back bumper. I checked into a new bumper, but was told that the truck was too new and replacements were not available yet. I couldn't stand to look at the dent so I put a Harley bumper sticker over the spot. After a while I kinda forgot about it and damn sure wasn't going to spend 400.00 for a new back bumper. So the end of this story is 3 years later I traded the squeeky clean 08 for a new 11 and clean forgot about the dented bumper. Boy I bet they were pi$$ed when they pulled off that bumper sticker.
THis past weekend driving from N Illinois to N Wisconsin on Interstate 90, I was in the inside/passing lane going slowly (cruise control) past a newer white GMC Sierra and all was fine when I noticed him move, looked over and realized his mirror was inside my mirror. I quickly moved over to the left onto shoulder, he moved back over and all was good.
Until I got to the cabin and my buddy asked me how i got the scratch on my front wheel well. I seriously thought he was yanking my chain until I saw a white 4 inch long scrape on the plastic part of my wheel well - the extended part. It's a small scrape and one that is jsut paint and luckily should pilish out. But still -that was a close call - I was towing a SeaDoo at the time.

I was very very careful when I backed out, and turned the wheel away from the pole before I even put it in gear.
That being said, my 2000 F-150 that I drove the tires off of did not fare so well - it had so many whiskey dents in the front bumper it wasn't even funny! Mostly from me hitting stuff with it, but not ever really hard - just enough to put yet another little dent! I know this one's time is coming soon, just hoping later rather than sooner.
