How do the auto locking hubs work??
I have a 1992 F150, the 4x4 system works decent for the most part, but occasionally the front hub will not fully disengage and make a clicking noise until i back up.
So just how do these front lockers work so i can look into making them work properly? I do not wish to convert to manual lockers.

I don't off-road much and have never had any problems wot auto hubs. I'll be switching to manuals though because I like to be able to use the gear reduction of 4Lo occasionally to pull a heavy load, as in a loaded car trailer, out of steep driveway etc. without having to worry about drive-line wrap-up.
