My remote start just decided to stop working. I did notice 3 days ago the horn beeped a few times when I started it with the key. Since then if I try to start it I get 6 beebs when it should have started. and the red light flashes twice continuously.
My remote has decided not to work also. I don't get any lights, horns, beeps, blips, nada. Just no response at all
This is the Ford dealer remote system. The one that's almost a factory unit but really isn't. There's nothing in my owner's manual about any remote start system, factory or not. Don't know the brand.
Let's start with the basics - anybody know what fuse this system would be LIKELY to use?
When I hit the remote button the horn chirps twice, which indicates that the hood is open or the brake is being pressed which neither of those things are happening, the hood is closed tight and the vehicle is empty and the brake is free, any suggestions?
2 beeps can mean open trigger being seen, it may be in "valet" mode, brake/hood is showing open signal (check for a mercury switch under the hood), and/or tach signal lost program.
