If I have a smaller subwoofer box and port it will that eventually burn up my voice coil?

box

ported boxes require more air space then sealed so dont even try it or it'll sound like ***. not sure if it'll burn the VC up but i wouldnt even attempt it.

I agree with Optikal. A ported or vented system always require MORE airspace then a standard sealed box. If your thinking of porting a box, just make sure its still within the factory reccomended specs for the sub you are using.

depends how small were talkin here... and what sub are we talkin.. small boxes wont burn your coil... they just change the sound....
