Didn't expect this???

So I hook up my 25 foot enclosed trailer up, not to tow it but just to move it so I can put my ATV in. Hook it up and I notice the 2011 F-250 really sags when hooked up. Much more than my previous Chev 2500 I had hooked to the same trailer.

WT hey is this? I thought if they are called "Super Duty" it had some meaning?

I see the Ford commercials with Super Duty and then I see my truck whimp out when hooked up. Trailer tongue weight can't be that much.

Guess I should have got the F-350 and that might equal the Chev 2500? I didn't expect a sag like that? I didn't even have my ATV in the back of the truck when I did it either. The ATV weighs about 800 with fuel.

Do I get air bags, or a leveling kit for the back, or extra springs in the back?
I thought for sure the F-250 would have no problems with it.

So much for the Super Duty title. The truck must have soft springs.

yep, the 250 springs are apparently a lot softer.. same results with my 20 ft enclosed with car inside.. have a WD hitch and added airbags..

trailer hitch

Does the Super Duty come standard with a weight distributing hitch like the Chevy 2500 did?

I would assume it makes sense but never thought of it before.

Ya my 06 f250 sagged way more than my current 08 2500 duramax, even with wd hitch. I was just about to install bags when I got pissed about something unrelated and traded it off. I have a front heavy toy hauler.

I would do airbags, I don't like the front end floating at 70 mph and if I go back to Ford I am buying a 350 for that reason. But my Chevy doesn't ride as well on bumpy dirt roads, all part of the trade off.

I got my 250 two years ago, was very shocked as well. My '08 250 had shorter leafs and there were three of them. My '11 has longer leafs and only 2.

Supposedly, payload capacity remains very high, just looks awful.

I had to wait until Firestone released the 2575 air bag kit. Took about 6 months I think, maybe 5. Now I can tow or haul anything I want and be level.

Stock, I hate it too. Ford still gives us one heckuva SD but it rides like a numb SUV.

I've noticed the same trend on here and other forums. I'm guessing Ford was just trying to improve the unloaded ride in the '11 and newer trucks.

If you plan to put an ATV in the bed I would suggest bags even if you end up getting a WD hitch. We offer kit 57396 for the 4wd applications and 57395 for the 2wd trucks. Both kits also offer the ability to add a fifth wheel if you ever go that route.

Not sure how familiar you are with airbags but if you have any questions regarding our products or other companies I would be happy to help.
