Tailgate inexpensive lock, "Hose Clamp" ??
I'm trying to secure my tailgate which it'll be open most of the time, I installed a bed extender in it so I want to make it difficult for someone to steal my tailgate.[ 04 Stepside Ranger]
Around the web people got pics of an installed "Hose Clamp" but I would like to have something stronger than that.
I found this motorcycle part:
Any Ideas?
Thanks a lot.

2. Wake up to sound of alarm at 3am, grab the 12 gauge and rush to your truck.
3. Tailgate secure, time for a cold beer. Good job champ.
4. Wake up the wife for some hot sex.

I just leave my truck unlocked with the keys in the ignition. People still don't steal it *shrug*. Then again my truck is a pos work truck with an old rusted contractors rack. Maybe it deters thieves?
Reminds me of my wife's chevy 08 cobalt. Constant problems but the most annoying was the key issue.
Couldn't pull key out or shut off the car. I called the dealer and they said "Start up and shut down of the engine isn't covered in the bumper to bumper warranty." There was a recall for the lock cylinder problems and yet my wife's cobalt wasn't on the list due to build date.
I left it running with the door open outside our house all night praying it wouldn't be there in the morning. (Yay insurance)
Unfortunately the pos was still there in the morning so I just dropped it off at the chevy dealership and told them to do something about it.
I made a big fit in front of some potential customers in the showroom about how my cobalt was the biggest pos i've ever purchased and i'd never buy a gm car again.
Eventually they replaced it for $900 and gm refunded me. I sold the chevy and bought my wife a cute little 2002 nissan sentra spec v. It gets great mileage and doesn't have any problems. *shrug*
Edit: Sorry for the hijack
