A solid axle and a monobeam are the same thing; a long tube with a differential in the middle (or off center for a front axle.) IFS is two beams (TTB.)
Just got a little confused when I saw a listing for front leaf suspension that included 4WD and 2WD F-350s but excluded solid axle trucks. Aren't the solid axle (monobeam) trucks the only ones using leaf springs? That and I saw another place with same part description different part # for 4WD front monobeam and 2WD solid front axle. Just throwing it out there.

The TTB F-250s used leafs up front as well.
I would think "monobeam" would be referring to the solid front axle used on older 2wd trucks. But considering I think you are talking about newer (80's era) trucks, that theory doesn't hold water.
