I just replaced the carpet in one of my 75' pickups, a Supercab. I got it all back together with only one problem. There is a long crank for the jack that goes under the seat and is retained by a single clip and screw. I cannot find where that clip goes. I have looked from underneath extensively for the screw hole with no luck. Can someone help? Of course I forgot to take a photo before I took the cab apart.
A bit of background. This pickup is a more or less a utility truck I use for work and pulling a camp trailer. The carpet was aging and the headliner was falling apart so I replaced both.
My other '75 is one I bought in '75, a HD F250 4x4. Fairly plain, with a 4-speed. It was what I could afford at the time. Over time I switched to a 427 and later to a 428 CJ. Added front and rear sway bars. One day in the mid 80’s I fell asleep driving and drove into a tree at 60 MPH, then rolled it several times. Once I was able to get about again I had to replace all of the sheetmetal. While I had it apart I went through the gearboxes, and cleaned and painted the chassis with black Imron. The body was also done in in Imron. At this point life got in the way and it has sat for the past 20 years. I am getting ready to get back to work on it, with another 427, and a overdrive. I still need to do the cab interior, it is just bare painted sheetmetal right now. When I rebuilt the truck I added in a welded in rollbar.

You can't see the hole from underneath, because where the clip/screw attaches inside the cab towards the rear of the floor pan, there's a U shaped "rear floor member" which is visable underneath.
So, the hole does not go all the way thru, because the rear floor member is below it.
Here's a couple of pics that might help with your problem. Might give you a general idea where to poke. I'd suggest getting an awl or something and see if you can poke around and find it that way.
NumberDummy & thatsrealnice,
Thanks! With the info you both provided I think I can get this finished without having to pull the carpet out to find one small hole. Thanks again.
