Time To Move On

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know I traded my 05 6.0psd for a new '12 Super Duty with the 6.7 psd.

I would also like to thank everyone on this forum for helping me learn the details about my 6.0 psd that I will sincerly miss. My truck had 170k enjoyable miles and I'm confident I could have gone another 100k easy.

Again I can't stress how great a group of guys that participate on this forum including the old timers that have taught me so much.

Good luck guys and I hope to see you in the 6.7 forum some day.

BTW... I'll still come here and read what's going on like I have for the last 7 years.

yep - congratulations on a fine truck. Keep the fuel system maintained on it!!! And use a good additive in it (lubricity and cetane boost IMO anyway).

Thanks again guys... I really do appreciate your participation here, this has been and continues to be a first class forum that I have really enjoyed.

Mark,
I'll continue to use the Motorcraft PM22 just as I did with my 6.0. Actually my current bottle of PM22 filled my 6.0's last tank and my 6.7's first tank. Thanks again!

Long Live your 6.0 psd...

Are you gonna run synthetic oil in it?

I know... I know...

I'm leaning towards Rotella T6 synthetic oil. The 6.7 psd appears to be pretty easy on the oil.

Right now it has 10W30 and is making a solid 21 mpg on the highway.

Hope your engine (mine as well) stays drip free

Thanks again William

Troy, enjoy your new truck. I know that between a 6.4L or a 6.7L, I would pick the 6.7L hands down. I know the few that I have had the opportunity to drive home from work, have been nothing but an absolute pleasure. I would LOVE to own one myself.

That's running on I-10 which is pretty much flat, but nevertheless is pretty impressive. My 6.0 psd got 18 mpg on the same route.

I've enjoyed your posts Troy and the knowledge you've shared. It's helped a lot on here, including myself. Enjoy the new ride.

M-Chan's comments have got me thinking. I love my 6.0 and it's got more than enough power for my needs and I always figured it would be my last diesel. But if I keep hearing good comments, I just might be tempted.

Also, one of the primary focus' of the Ford design team when developing the 6.7 was fuel mileage. Sounds like they got it right. But I'll also add that when my 6.0 was new, I hit 21 mpg on a couple long distance runs up I-95. I consistently get 19-20 mpg now at 120k on the odometer keeping speed at or below 70 mph and 2000 rpm. I know that's at the upper end of the experience base but I'm happy getting that kind of mileage with a 7800 lb vehicle.
