I have the X3 (which is plugged into the OBDII port for programming).
If I had to do it over again since I tow and I'm interested in monitoring functions/temps like trans and engine...SCT makes one called the "Livewire" that stays plugged into the OBDII port all the time and displays functions in real time that you select...so it is sort of a tuner and real time monitor/display all in one!
I already had an Aeroforce gauge that monitors parameters through the OBDII port...so when I want to change my tunes...I simply unplug the Aeroforce gauge, plug in the X3, send the tune and then unplug the X3 and replug the Aeroforce...pretty simple.
Mike is GREAT to work with and a real class act!
You won't be disappointed if you decide to give him a try.
Oh and BTW...don't expect to see the huge HP gains that you are used to from a diesel tune...Mike plays with shift points, etc to optimize the gasser...especially for towing which is why I went with him...
So I understand right, if you want to change tunes, you have to plug it in each time to send the tune to the CPS? I'm not really looking for HP, more economy then anything, but still, just need to understand, I'm used to the DP Tuner, I just push the button up or down to pick the tune I want.
Hey guys I know ive found this before but can u give me a step by step of getting the number off the back of the computer so I can call mike and get a tuner. Ive looked at a few times with a mirror and a flashlight and that dont work, lol. Any help would be appreciated, thx! Oh my truck is a 2000 Excursion V-10!
Everybody keeps talking about what's hot and what's not but what do they ACTUALLY do for/to a gas engine and trans.......................or does anybody know?
