Fixed it

Just thought I would tell what the problem was, turned out it was the Solonoid "actuator " for the 4 wheel drive $25.00 and 20 min later it's fixed.

good ot hear the solenoid fixed your issue. i started there and ended up needing to replace the IWE's too.

My '05 4x4 has the same noise. Two different mechanics have noticed the sound and looked into it but could not figure out where it came from. They did say it was definetly not the IWE.
